Busy Decluttering Week!

Happy Friday faithful readers! How was your week? I have to admit I jumped up and down on the bed a few times, and shone my face to the sun thinking about Pop. Bella giornata!

It has been a busy week here at moxy. central! We picked up a decluttering job in town and kicked out 44 hours worth of work in 6 days! It's good to get out of the office!

This job was a challenge... I never know what to expect when I walk in to a space, and this was definitely a project. I was happy to help this gentleman out, though. I think he just fell in a bit of bad times, and hopefully this will be encouragement for him. I could definitely tell that he was overwhelmed. This is very common among the people that hire me.

We cleared and organised an entire basement and garage. I decided to attack the basement first, as it looked like it needed the most help. My technique was just to start at the door and work my way clockwise around the room. There was quite a bit of recycling and not a lot of garbage. Easy peasy!

That was the lion's share of the job... it took us 4 days!

The garage only took two days, but it was a bit of a task because all of the recycling and garbage from the basement was sitting in the middle of it. We decided to clear one side, and put all the garbage and recycling there... then put everything else on the other side. We were glad to have some fresh air after spending 4 days in a basement!

The work went quickly, and my client decided the space was much more manageable and he could now take the reins. We may go back one more day to help. Voila! Clean space! What do you think?

This whole pile is recycling and garbage... and this is AFTER we took a truckload of over 500 pounds of paper to the recycle center!

What a great feeling to know that we could be of assistance! A lot of things got donated... two truckloads of toys and books to the flood victims in Sidney, New York. A lot of school supplies are going to go to kids locally who can't afford them. If anyone has any ideas for a worthy cause, let me know!

The satisfaction of a job well done makes it all worth while. This week I will be helping my dear friend pack up for a winter move to Florida... who knows what next week will bring? I can't wait!
